CUSP Staff Profiles
Carol Ekarius
As Director Emeritus, Carol brings decades of experience in governmental and nonprofit management, to CUSP. In her spare time, she writes as a freelancer for magazines and is author of Small-Scale Livestock Farming: A Grass-based Approach for Health, Sustainability, and Profit, Storey's Guide to Raising Sheep and Hobby Farms; visit her web site at www.carolekarius.com.  She lives with her husband, Ken Woodard, and their menagerie near Hartsel.
Theresa Springer
As Environmental Education Coordinator, Theresa provides a variety of presentations to educate the public, both adult and youth, about watershed and forest health.  She is an original CUSP staff member and has been involved in watershed protection efforts for years.  Theresa’s background is in agriculture and range management.
Marti Campbell
Marti is the Coalition's ‘jack of all trades’!  Besides working with the organization's finances and supplies, Marti holds educational seminars in cooperation with the National Firewise program, about forest health, ecological importance of fire, and home wildfire protection.  Raised in El Paso and Teller Counties she's a graduate of Colorado State and has worked in western Nat'l Forests with several years experience with Indiana Dept of Natural Resources.  Marti serves as Vice President for Teller County Pikes Peak Wildfire Prevention Partners and has a strong commitment to the health of watersheds and forests.
Jonathan Bruno
Jonathan Bruno started working at CUSP in June of 2002 planning/coordinating volunteer workdays and is now CUSP’s Executive Director.  He has extensive training in mountain rescue and enjoys playing in the hills.  He graduated from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.  Jonathan is currently enrolled in UCCS Graduate School of Public Affairs.
Chris Fuller
Chris works for CUSP part-time doing website and database maintenance and administrative support for the staff. Water/watershed issues have been of particular interest to Chris as a resident of South Park and a board member for a special water district.  An Oklahoma University graduate with a background in architecture and database management and her antique business, Chris grabs every opportunity to check out her favorite place, 'the road less traveled'. 
Matt Matwijec
In March of 2005, Matt joined CUSP as a Forest Technician and is currently coordinating and implementing CUSP’s volunteer and fuels reduction projects.  Matt received his bachelors degree in Forest Resource Management from the University of Tennessee.  Following graduation, he worked for the Colorado State Forest Service until joining CUSP.  Matt is a passionate fly fisherman and was recently awarded his first Colorado Master Angler award.
