Hayman Fire BAER - Aspen Regeneration

Aspen are some the first trees to come back after a fire, because they can re-sprout from roots deep in the ground. Because of this, they are often called a pioneer species. Unfortunately, noxious weeds also come back quickly after fire, making them a concern for long-term forest restoration.
