Colorado's largest forest fire in history has left the burned area of the South Platte River Corridor with unstable areas for all campers, hikers and fishermen. The corridor has a high potential for flooding during heavy rainfall. If you plan to be in the area, we urge you to be observant of weather conditions and take the necessary precautions for flood potential. There are currently weather monitoring stations in the area that trigger an alarm when the potential for flood exists. During these periods, highways 67 and 126 are often closed due to massive amounts of debris covering the roadway. Contact the Colorado Department of Transportation for current travel restrictions.
